Carbon Based Studio operates the eBay developer application. You do not paste App ID, Cert ID, or RuName in the shop UI. Marketplace Account Deletion for the CBS app is handled by Carbon Based Studio - shops do not register a deletion endpoint in the eBay developer portal. Site-level privacy is on our website Privacy section; Connect-specific detail is in Privacy (Connect with eBay) below.

Use Disconnect eBay on Credentials (or remove the app from your eBay account) to revoke access. Reconnect after disconnecting if you need to list again.

Privacy (Connect with eBay)

This section is for shop owners who install Auction Manager - eBay AU and use Connect with eBay. It covers marketplace connection data only. Website, checkout, and account privacy remain on our website Privacy section.

What Carbon Based Studio operates

Carbon Based Studio owns the eBay developer application. Your store does not paste its own App ID, Cert ID, or RuName for normal Connect. You approve access on eBay’s consent screen; our Licensing shop brokers OAuth for entitled installs.

Marketplace Account Deletion

eBay may notify Carbon Based Studio when a user deletes or closes their eBay account. We acknowledge the notice. On your site, Auction Manager will:

  • Buyer match - anonymise buyer personal details on related WooCommerce orders; retain commercial/tax order shells; retain buyer username for history search.
  • Connected seller match - auto-disconnect (clear OAuth tokens) only. The plugin does not withdraw or end live offers for this notice.
  • No match - log and acknowledge only.

Customer shops do not register their own Marketplace Account Deletion endpoint for the CBS app.

Your controls

  • Disconnect eBay in Auction Manager → Settings → Credentials.
  • Remove the app from your eBay account settings.
  • Contact Carbon Based Studio support for licence or shop privacy questions.

Profiles, templates & policies

Profiles hold reusable listing settings. Values on a profile override Listing defaults where applicable.

  • Business policies - fulfilment, payment, and return policy IDs from your eBay seller account. Use Fetch from eBay on the profile form when connected.
  • Price / offer settings - how the WooCommerce price maps to the eBay offer (follow on-screen fields for your version).
  • Listing template - choose an HTML description template, or product description only.

Templates build the HTML description sent as the offer listingDescription. Assign templates under Profiles. Keep markup valid for eBay listing descriptions.

Listing workflow

  1. In WooCommerce > Products (or from Listings), prepare products with a listing profile.
  2. Open Listings. Prepared rows appear there.
  3. Prepare builds inventory item and offer data from the product and profile.
  4. Verify creates/updates the unpublished offer and can show listing fees before publish.
  5. Publish publishes the offer on eBay. Use Revise after product or profile changes; end or withdraw the offer when you stop selling that row.
  6. Optional: use stock mismatch tools under Settings / Advanced workflows to compare WooCommerce stock with live offers.

Keep fee confirmation enabled unless you intentionally want unattended publishing. eBay may charge listing fees according to your seller account and category.

Orders & sync

Orders imports eBay sales into WooCommerce via the Sell Fulfillment API. Each sale is keyed by eBay order id so the same order is never imported twice.

  • Use Sync now on Orders, or enable scheduled order sync under Settings > Sync Settings.
  • Skipped sales and reasons appear on the Orders screen; detail is in WooCommerce > Status > Logs (sources such as cbsam-ebay-au / order sync).
  • Optional: when a WooCommerce order is completed, the plugin can create an eBay shipping fulfilment (see Sync / complete-sale settings on your install).

Licence & updates

  1. Open Carbon Based > eBay AU > Licence.
  2. Paste your licence key and click Activate licence.
  3. Click Check for updates to refresh status and see whether a newer version is available.
  4. When entitled, use the in-place update action for the new version (no redirect to the Plugins screen).
  5. Expired - use Renew licence; updates (and Connect entitlement) are blocked until renewed.
  6. Revoked - contact support if you believe this is an error.

Troubleshooting

  • Connect with eBay fails - activate the licence first; complete consent on eBay; try Disconnect then Connect again. Staging/dev sites must use a valid licence API base if overridden in config.
  • Test Connection fails - confirm Credentials shows Connected; reconnect if the refresh token was revoked on eBay.
  • Publish fails - policies - fetch business policies on the profile and select fulfilment / payment / return policies that exist on the connected eBay account.
  • Wrong eBay category - map leaf categories; resolution walks from the product’s deepest WooCommerce category upward to the first mapped ancestor, then any default.
  • Fee confirmation / verify errors - review Verify output on Listings; fix offer/inventory messages from eBay before Publish.
  • Order not imported - check Orders skip reasons and WooCommerce logs; the same eBay order id is never imported twice.
  • Updates not offered - open Licence; activate the key, check status, and renew if expired.
  • Wrong marketplace - this release is eBay Australia only; US/EU sites are not supported.
